 How The Class Works:

Classes are self-directed and structured to allow you to access the lessons and class materials at any time convenient to you.

Lectures are conducted very much like you would experience in a regular class. You will be able to listen to the lecture on your computer while notes are being displayed on your computer screen.

Each week you will be given assignments that will help to integrate what you’ve learned into your own writing.  Assignments are submitted by way of email.  Assignments are corrected with suggestions and writing advice, and then returned via email.

     Description:

This class goes beyond grammar to highlight those errors agents and publishers identify as poor writing.  You'll learn how to improve your writing skills by learning to recognize and avoid the most common writing mistakes novice writers make.

               This class...

a.    will teach you how to identify the error under discussion in your own work.

b.      will show you how to cure it.

c.      will provide examples and exercises to give you experience identifying errors and correcting your own work.

10 Glaring Mistakes Amateur Writer's Make
by Nora Profit

Writers will find this book helpful when checking their work for obvious style errors.  The book identifies the top 10 mistakes writers make--mistakes that rob their work of impact and  keep it from being published.  It's an easy-to-use reference on what not to do.

You read about the mistake, see what it looks like when written, then read how to cure it.  Quick fixes make it easy to get answers quickly.
