Description        Course Materials

    How the Class Works:

Classes are self-directed and structured to allow you to access the lessons and class materials at any time convenient to you.

Lectures are conducted very much like you would experience in a regular class. You will be able to listen to the lecture on your computer while notes are being displayed on your computer screen.

Each week you will be given assignments that will help to integrate what you’ve learned into your own writing.  Assignments are submitted by way of email.  Assignments are corrected with suggestions and writing advice, and then returned via email.

    Description:

This class is geared to giving you an overall look at the publishing industry and what you can expect when your book is ready to be published.

You'll become familiar with how editors and publishers think,  how they make publishing decisions, and what kinds of books they want.

You'll learn about self publishing, print-on-demand, e-publishing, e-zines, and other publishing technologies.  If you've been wondering whether you need an agent, what agents do, or how to get one, you'll learn about it in this class.

Course Materials:  Students will be given a list of suggested reference books and other material given in class.
